Grants & Funding Supporting Texarkana’s Local Business Growth

Main Street aims to enhance commerce in our downtown area. One of the most effective ways we achieve this is by assisting individuals who wish to establish and expand their businesses downtown in securing available funding. Below, you'll find links to information regarding the funding sources we currently have access to.

Through our revolving loan fund program, Main Street Texarkana has been able to loan money to help business get started. Contact Main Street Texarkana for information.


Commonly known as CDGB, these grant funds are designed to create and retain permanent jobs in designated areas withing a city.

Matching funds with a grant from the state of Arkansas allows Main Street Texarkana to match dollar for dollar any exterior improvements to properties on the Arkansas side of Stateline. Funds are limited each year.


Brownfields are properties that may have hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants present.




Main Street Texarkana has access to both interior and exterior architectural design assistance including renderings of updated facades or helping build layout plans. Though not direct funding, this assistance can help you get things rolling.

  • Location must be in Arkansas Main Street District​
  • Exterior improvement projects only
  • Projects approved at the State Level

Submit your application before the deadline and track its status.

  • This is a matching grant. The Improvement Grant matches facade exterior improvement costs dollar for dollar as available.
  • Deadline for applications is Spring. 
  • Funds up to $5,000
  • Most projects are matched at the $1,500 - $2,500 level.
  • A Certificate of Appropriateness may be required to complete project. Check with the city of Texarkana, Arkansas for details about how to apply for a Certificate of Appropriateness

Downtown Small Business Loan

This loan is geared to small to medium sized business that are looking to locate or expand into Texarkana's downtown district. The Downtown Small Business Loan has competitive terms and can be a catalyst for your business with additional funding to help your business get started on its best foot. This loan can be used for Machinery and Equipment.

Downtown Property Development Loan

This loan is designed for individuals and developers looking to bring existing real estate back to the market. This loan can help with land or building purchase or infrastructure improvements.
