Main Street Texarkana - Unique as a bi-city State Main Street Program- exists to be the leading catalyst to restore and revitalize downtown Texarkana. We are preservation based, economics minded, and people oriented.
Who We Are:
Main Street Texarkana is an organization made up of the citizens of Texarkana Texas and Arkansas. We have a citizen board that works to implement strategies that will positively impact the future of downtown Texarkana and in so doing, positively impacting the future of the city of Texarkana as a whole.
Our History
In 2005 Main Street Texarkana was formed under the umbrella of Main Street America. A National organization that is focused on helping cities revitalize their city centers. Since Main Street Texarkana's Inception, we've been able to commit community members to the long task of bringing back our downtown.
Our Approach
We follow the national 4-points approach to revitalizing a downtown through Design, Organization, Promotion and Economic Vitality. In the end, we believe, the resurgence of the Downtown Economy is essential to the well being of our community. That is what we are working for on a daily basis.
