Scott Joplin: Texarkana's Own


We offer a self-guided driving tour of the highlights of Scott Joplin's lifetime in Texarkana. 

​The tour is narrated by Steve Mitchell from the Texarkana College KTXK 91.5 FM radio station.
To pick up a copy of the tour, stop by the Chamber of Commerce office or the Texarkana Museums System office.

Pitch It Texarkana, at Crossties
Do you have an authentic and innovative idea? Pitch It at Texarkana's Entrepreneurial competition! First place prize is $7,500!

17th Annual Wine & Jazz Gala presented by Patterson Troike Foundation. Enjoy an evening of gourmet dishes from local chefs and expertly paired wine with live jazz music by Candace Taylor & Trio, while enjoying a premiere silent auction and live painting. Event will be held 7-9pm at Silvermoon on Broad. Call 870-774-1398 or email development@hrfb.org for more information or sponsorship opportunities.

April 1

9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt presented by Texarkana Museums System. Hunt will take place at 1pm at the Ace of Clubs House located at 420 Pine Street. Children 0-12 are welcome. The event is free to the public. Registration is suggested but not required.

April 2

2nd Annual Sunday Funday at Crossties presented by Texarkana Special Education Center, Inc. Enjoy live entertainment. barbecue provided by Naamans barbecue and a baggo competition. Tickets are $100 each and includes admission to the event with food, beer, bbq and live entertainment. Purchase tickets online.

April 15

MASTERWORKS IV: Spectacular Stories featuring Brian Dunbar, flute. Brian has considerable experience as a performer in multiple settings of professional performance including concerto, recital, chamber, solo, studio and orchestral contexts. His concert will begin at 7pm at the Perot Theatre.

April 16

The Texarkana Museums System welcomes author W. Dale Weeks presenting his latest work "Cherokee Civil Warrior". This is a free event taking place at the P.J. Ahern Home from 2-4pm. Registration is recommended.

April 29

Murder Mystery Dinner: A Texarkana themed Mystery Dinner at the P.J. Ahern Home. Tickets are $45 each or $40 for TMS Members. Dinner will be from 6-8pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Deadline to purchase tickets is April 26th.

April 29-June 10
